LARGER SPORTING EVENTS
Waste Management Phoenix Open
One of the top reasons why Scottsdale is such a great place to live is all the beautiful golf courses in the valley, including the Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale where the Waste Management Phoenix Open takes place. Nicknamed “The Greatest Show on Grass,” the open takes place Jan. 30-Feb. 5.
Watch 30 Major League teams play in the Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa and Scottsdale area in the Cactus League. Our hometown team, the Arizona Diamondbacks, moved their spring training home in 2011 from Tucson to the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick facility. The Chicago Cubs moved to a new complex in 2014. The Cubs’ Sloan Park has a 15,000-seat capacity and is the largest venue ever built for Spring Training.
Celebrating Native American cultures, Native Trails is a free outdoor festival. Enjoy sound and dance at Scottsdale Civic Center Mall. Thursdays and Saturdays Jan. 12 through March 30.
Starting Jan. 15, also at the Civic Center Mall, is Sunday A’Fair. The Valley’s top musicians will be performing from noon to 4 p.m. most Sundays Jan. 15 through April 2. Look for an arts-and-crafts market and activities for kids and families.
Celebration of Fine Art
Close to some of the top neighborhoods such as Troon and DC Ranch you’ll find the Celebration of Fine Art studios. This is near where you’ll find many beautiful Scottsdale homes for sale. Starting Jan. 14 through March 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, you can tour more than 100 artists working studios in big white tents southwest of Hayden and the Loop 101.

Phoenix is one of the hottest entertainment cities in the world.. whether you like country, pop, comedy, drama, rock or yodeling you will find some of the greatest selection of options in the Phoenix area. See Google online for a myriad of options.
The Scottsdale Culinary Festival is April 16 and Saturday. It’s a weekend to taste foods from many different restaurants. There’ll also be music on the Festival’s three stages and a Family Zone loaded with activities for kids. You also won’t want to miss the Southwest Festival of Beers and learn about fine wines at the Wine Garden.
The Parada del Sol and Trails End Festival
On Feb. 11, you won’t want to miss the Parada del Sol Parade at 10am along with the Trail’s End Festival. It starts at Scottsdale Road south of Camelback. Conveniently close to many Scottsdale homeS for sale, you’ll also be able to enjoy live music after the parade along with entertainment.
Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show
Another reason why it’s so great to live in Scottsdale is the annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. It runs Feb. 16-26 at WestWorld. Top owners, trainers and breeders come from around the globe.
Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction
Thousands of car collectors from all over the world descend on this car auction that’s practically in your backyard and close to more Scottsdale homes for sale. The auction runs Jan. 14-22 at WestWorld.
Gooding and Company Scottsdale Auction
All kinds of classic cars will be on hand at the Gooding and Company Scottsdale Auction at Scottsdale Fashion Square, Jan. 18-21.
