·         Moving Tips

·         Once we find your perfect dream home, the exciting part is moving. Here are some tips to, hopefully, make your life easier.

·         1.      Schedule your moving truck right away, especially if you’re moving at a peak time of the year.

·         2.      Call the utility companies. Nothing is worse than arriving at your new home to find the electricity hasn’t been turned on. Don’t forget about calling the cable or satellite company.

·         3.      When it comes to storage, if you’re moving to a smaller home and space is an issue, consider renting a storage unit before the move. AND great Moving tip; Ask yourself, “do you want to move that 6-year-old couch across the country or what other might be better off sold or donated??

·         4.      Take priceless items such as photos albums and birth certificates with you in the car. Don’t take a chance on movers losing items or damaging them. Photograph everything going into the truck.

·         5.      Most of the time, there’s no way to know when the moving truck will arrive so be sure and pack enough belongings to get you by for a week or so.

·         6.      Use proper packing materials and label boxes by room. It’ll save time so you won’t find yourself opening each box to find out what’s inside.   I have more moving and home buying tips which I will gladly share as we search. It’s a team effort!
